Maria Kokorotskou is a Theater/Drama Education (MA), drama therapist and museologist (MA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in archaeology and art history and an extended MA in scenography. She works at the Metropolitan Organization of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki (MOMUS) as curator of education. She serves as the scientific director of all therapeutic programs at the MOMUS in Thessaloniki and Athens. In collaboration with various mental health organizations, she designs and implements therapeutic programs utilizing visual arts, photography, and drama. She has participated in numerous conferences as a speaker and workshop facilitator on the therapeutic dimension of art, applied theater, and drama therapy. Her interviews and articles on the therapeutic dimension of art have been published in both digital and print media. She has experience leading drama therapy and therapy through art groups with cancer patients, individuals with dementia and mild depression, as well as seniors.
