Membership qualifications
HADP was the first educational organization of Dramatherapy and Playtherapy in Greece. In the past few years the association organizes workshops and seminars on Dramatherapy and Playtherapy that are aimed to mental health workers and others interested in getting to know these two fields.
HADP does not run anymore a full education program on Dramatherapy and Playtherapy.
Members become professionals after completing the MA degree in Dramatherapy and Playtherapy in one of the qualified training centers in Greece or abroad.
Those who are interested in becoming members of HADP are registered after request by submitting the necessary documentation (info: info@edpe.gr). The Board of the Association examines and evaluates the sufficiency of the submitted qualifications in Drama and Playtherapy, as long as their first degree is in Human or Social Sciences.
HADP recognizes educational programs at the MA level, with a minimum of four years (part-time) and each candidate has to have completed a program of at least 1300 hours of theory, clinical practice and supervision.
Professional Dramatherapists and Playtherapists are scientists coming from the fields of Health (psychiatrists), of Mental Health (psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors etc) and of Human Sciences (Theatre Studies, Education, Special Education etc), since these fields combines with the expertise in Art as Therapy and Art in Therapy can work as a basis for good practice.
Basic criteria
For the Dramatherapists:
– Degree that covers the fields of: Dramatherapy Theory, Psychopathology, Psychology, Theory and Practice of Theatre, Group Dynamics, Anthropology, written assignments and a thesis on Dramatherapy.
– Sufficient clinical practice and supervision.
– To have participated in experiential seminars with experienced and renowned coordinators Dramatherapists and Playtherapists.
– To have a minimum of four years in personal therapy (group and one on one)
For the Playtherapists:
– Degree that covers the fields of: Theory and Methodology of Playtherapy, Evolutionary Psychology, Children Psychiatry, Psychiatry, Anthropology, written assignments and thesis on Playtherapy.
– Sufficient clinical practice in observing infant play, sessions of creative play, Playtherapy sessions (group and one on one) with supervision.
– To have participated in experiential seminars with experienced and renowned coordinators Playtherapistsand Dramatherapists.
– Theatrical experience
– To have a minimum of four years in personal therapy (group and one on one)
